Riga Shipyard

Riga Shipyard is one of the largest yards in the Baltic region with a repair capacity of more than 100 seagoing vessels per year. Established in 1913 and counting more than one century of history, today Riga Shipyard continues to serve the European and Scandinavian customers focusing on ship repair, conversion and shipbuilding. The Shipyard co-operates with all Classification Societies, major equipment and paint manufacturers, logistics and shipping companies.

Quality Management System of Riga Shipyard was approved to comply to ISO 9001:2008 Quality System Management Standard by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance in 2001 . Skills, knowledge, and experience of the workforce is being certified by DNV, Lloyd’s Register, RMRS, BV, GL etc.

Certified laboratory of Riga Shipyard executes tests of the chemical composition and mechanical properties of the materials used in repair in accordance with the requirements of the respective register society as well as other tests and analysis required in ship repair.

Riga Shipyard operates 3 Floating Docks with lifting capacity up to 30.000 tons. Berths are 2000m long in total and their depth is up to 8 meters, enabling the yard to accommodate vessels with maximum length 235 meters and 32 meters width for dry-docking and vessels with length up to 240 meters and width up to 42 meters for afloat repair.

Riga Shipyard owns modern multipurpose waterfront, fully equipped workshops, in-doors and out-doors storage facilities and it has a direct connection to international railway and road networks. The Shipyard has sufficient capacity and capabilities to perform painting, machinery, piping, electrical, mechanical, carpentry as well as unique works according to our Customers` specific requirements.

With 9 berths, 3 docks and two slipways located on the banks of Daugava River channels the shipyard is capable to accommodate PANAMAX size vessels for dry-docking and AFRAMAX size vessels for afloat repairs. The works are being carried out all year round.
